As we come close to wrapping up 2025, the Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Association (TSHA) is excited to implement the organization’s new three-year strategic plan focusing on the member experience, professional development, and advocacy within the fields of audiology and speech-language pathology. As we continue to create meaningful and modern educational experiences, we strive to create a more personalized member experience, support members in finding joy in their profession, and activate members to impact their communities and state through advocacy efforts.
We are fortunate to be led by the committed volunteers that make up our 14-member Executive Board (EB) and our Executive Council (EC), which is comprised of more than 40 committee and task force chairs and co-chairs from around the state. Through this year’s Call for Volunteers, we are excited to integrate numerous new individuals into our body of established volunteers and into the more than 30 TSHA committees and task forces. As we continue to expand our volunteer base, we welcome individuals from all corners of our professions and look forward to their perspectives and input as we carry out new and current initiatives. TSHA is particularly excited to implement our vision of training members through the TSHA Leadership Academy to advocate for the issues that matter most to membership. We encourage our members to watch for upcoming surveys and requests for feedback. In short, we want to hear what matters most to you!
As in previous years, the TSHA EC will meet virtually each quarter to discuss progress and collaborate. Chairs and co-chairs provide quarterly updates that apprise the EB and members of the status of goals, and more frequent meetings allow us to come together to ensure we are working together toward our common goals.
Finally, we look forward to welcoming you to the 70th Annual TSHA Convention in Fort Worth this February. The EC invites you to engage with us as we explore new learning pathways, catch up with old friends, and meet new friends in the special way that only happens when we come together in person. We look forward to seeing everyone in Fort Worth in a few short months!
