Membership Prices
Active - $130
Membership level for professionals who hold 1) a graduate degree with a major emphasis in speech-language pathology, audiology, or speech, language, or hearing science; or 2) a graduate degree and present evidence of active research, interest, and performance in the field of human communication.
This membership is best for: licensed professionals (including SLP-Intern licenses), those in a clinical fellowship, and active researchers. This also includes those who hold a license but are pursuing a higher degree beyond a master's level degree.
Associate - $120
Membership level for professionals who hold a bachelor's degree in the professions of speech-language pathology and/or audiology.
This membership is best for: assistant speech-language pathologists and those who have graduated with a bachelor's degree and are working towards or have secured an Assistant Speech-Language Pathologist license.
Affiliate - $100
This membership level is for any interested party who does not qualify for Active or Associate Membership.
This membership is best for: OTs, PTs, Advocates, administrators, and others who are interested in human communication sciences and disorders.
Student - $35
Those members who are in the process of pursuing credentials for entry into the professions of speech-language pathology and/or audiology or education of the hearing impaired, or other professions concerned with human communication and its disorders.
This membership is best for: undergraduate and graduate students in a communication sciences and disorders program (speech-language pathology or audiology) who do not hold a license.
Requirements:
- For students with a minimum of (6) credit hours.
- Students must identify the program coordinator to verify status.
Lifetime Member
Membership level for those members of the Association who have served as President of the Association, or those persons 65 years of age and over who have been Active or Associate Members in good standing for at least 20 consecutive years or 25 cumulative years. Life Members who were Active Members prior to becoming a Life Member will continue as full voting members. All Life Members are exempt from dues payment. Please note that approval is required for this membership level.
To apply for Life Membership, applicants must complete this application, show proof of age, and proof of current membership, and submit to staff@txsha.org; TSHA Staff will review your application. TSHA Staff will accept Lifetime Membership Applications between October 1-January 25 each year, during our membership renewal period. Those who apply for and receive Lifetime Membership will be notified ahead of exiting their membership grace period (January 31).
If you are a Lifetime Member of TSHA, your TSHA membership renews automatically. Lifetime Members do not need to complete membership renewal. For questions regarding Lifetime Membership, please contact staff@txsha.org.

Dues payments are deductible as an ordinary and necessary business expense. Under IRS rules IR-93-98 and notice 93-55, the government requires exempt organizations to estimate the percentage of a member’s dues utilized for lobbying purposes. It has been determined that 50% of TSHA dues are not deductible as a business expense under IRS rules.
