2025 National Speech-Language-Hearing Month Recap

By: Adanna Burrell, MS, CCC-SLP, Vice President of Member Engagement

National Speech-Language-Hearing Month in May was an exciting time for the Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Association (TSHA) as we celebrated the incredible work of our members across the state. During the TSHA 2025 Convention in San Antonio, our National Speech-Language-Hearing Month Committee had the privilege of chatting with many of our members to learn their why—the passion that drives them in their work as speech-language pathologists and audiologists.

One of the highlights of the month was the opportunity for members to “Find Their Zone.” This initiative was designed to help our members feel even more connected to others in their geographical areas around the state. By finding their Zone, attendees could strengthen relationships and create a sense of community among professionals who are working in similar regions.

It was inspiring to hear from so many members about their motivations and the impact they’re making in their communities. We were thrilled to facilitate this important connection and give members the space to reflect on the meaningful work they do every day.

For those who were unable to attend the TSHA Convention, don’t worry; there will be an opportunity to sign up for Zones soon. We will be sending out sign-up details to help you connect with others in your area. These Zones will provide a great way to foster more localized collaboration and support among our members.

We are incredibly proud of the work our members are doing, and it was wonderful to take time in May to celebrate all that we accomplish together. Thank you for being a part of this vibrant, supportive community. We look forward to continuing to build connections and celebrate our professions year-round!
