Have you heard of the Simple View of Reading (SVR)? Reading Rocket’s Linda Farrell, Michael Hunter, Marcia Davidson, and Tina Osenga explain Hover and Gough’s (1990) SVR study and the importance of decoding and language comprehension to developing successful reading with reading comprehension. Our young students are depending on us to provide interventions that will support the development of oral and written language.

Are you familiar with Storyline Online? Storyline by the SAG AFTRA Foundation is a resource where celebrities read many well-known books to children to encourage a love of reading. It is a phenomenal resource for finding texts that you can use in your literacy-based interventions.
