Licensure

In the state of Texas, all speech-language pathologists and audiologists as well as interns and assistants, must adhere to licensure guidelines as established by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. Any questions regarding licensure or requirements to obtain/maintain licensure need to be addressed by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.

The Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Association (TSHA) is a membership based association for speech-language pathologists, audiologists, consumers, and students. TSHA does not govern or regulate licensure for speech-language pathologists or audiologists.  Visit the TSHA Continuing Education Center for information on TSHA and ASHA approved CE opportunities.

When renewing your State of Texas license, the Jurisprudence Exam Certificate of completion can be scanned and e-mailed directly to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation instead of being faxed. The e-mail address is: CS.Speech@tdlr.texas.gov. This e-mail address goes directly to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. The fax number is used by multiple boards.

State licensing questions are best found at the state board website https://www.tdlr.texas.gov/.
