Top Tips for Making Your Presentation Effective

  • Know your audience
  • Identify the key point you want to convey on each slide
  • Limit the amount of text or information displayed on each slide
  • Create slides to highlight your presentation, not to duplicate exactly what you will say
  • Use a large font size (at least 12 pt) and black font is recommended. Remember that those sitting in the back of the room should still be able to read your slides
  • Consider asking questions throughout your presentation rather than ending with “Questions?”
  • Practice. Practice. Practice.

How Do I Submit My Final Presentation and Handouts?

All primary presenters will receive access to our conference management tool to submit your final presentation and handouts. To submit your final presentation and handouts, log into the conference harvester and navigate to the “Upload Presentation Slides” task. Please note that if you have multiple presenters, we will only need the primary speaker to upload the final presentation.

Please upload your final PowerPoint Presentation(s) in the task labeled, “Upload Presentation Slides.” Use the included TSHA PowerPoint template for your presentation. All handouts and resources should be uploaded by February 3. For presentations with multiple presenters, only the primary presenter will be able to upload materials. If you need assistance, please contact programming@txsha.org.

Speaker Orientation

To help you prepare for your responsibilities as a speaker at the 66th TSHA Annual Convention, the TSHA Programming Committee hosted a Speaker Orientation webinar.
