ASHA LC - Texas
ASHA Legislative Councilors and Executive Board Officers are elected to serve and be accountable to ASHA members and their professions. The Legislative Council shares governance responsibilities with the Executive Board, and both groups work together to provide strategic direction and develop annual and multiple-year priorities for the Association. The Legislative Council establishes policies of the Association, subject to ratification by the Executive Board. The Executive Board of ASHA implements the programs and policies established by the ASHA bylaws and the Legislative Council.
The Legislative Council includes two subgroups: The Audiology/Hearing Science Assembly and the Speech-Language Pathology/Speech or Language Science Assembly. Members of each Assembly are responsible for voting on resolutions that relate only to their profession or area of the discipline.
